Game Systems

All dice mechanics in Quincunx are handled through a pool of 1-6 12-sided dice, with anything over 6 being a success.

Rolling a 1 adds complications to a success, whereas rolling a 12 adds a critical bonus.

The second major part of the game system is a push-your-luck mechanic called Desperation, which, as it accumulates, creates opportunities for more dramatic critical fumbles and complicated critical successes.
